Mal­di­tos Ben­di­tos (Damned Bles­sed)

With Malditos Benditos, the celebrated, Nuremberg-based ballet director says goodbye to his audience and place of work. Goyo Montero is completing the circle of his career, as he debuted himself and his company in 2008 with Benditos Malditos (The Blessed Damned). This initial production is especially important, as, “Montero and his dancers have taken the hearts of the audience in Nuremberg by storm,” according to the Nürnberger Zeitung at the time.

The oft cited ballet wonder of Nuremberg continued for 17 more years. As he prepares to leave at the end of the season, it is time for him to revisit his creative origins and use it as a starting point for a deeply personal journey through 17 years of highly successful creative works. This performance will reflect on some of the lead choreographer’s most beloved works, with companions, artistic partners, and Montero himself performing his own pieces…

Malditos Benditos, like its namesake Benditos Malditos, is yet another highly emotional tribute by Montero in which he showcases his entire stylistic and choreographic range.
