Hubert Wild was born in Karlsruhe. He initially studied the violin and piano, then singing with Rudolf Bautz in Aachen and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau in Berlin. His first works took him to theaters in Aachen, Essen, Bremen, Stralsund/Greifswald, Heidelberg, and the Salzburg State Theatre, among others. He has worked at numerous European theaters and opera houses, including the Kassel State Theatre, the Karlsruhe State Theatre, the Nuremberg State Theatre, the Aalto Theatre Essen, the Berlin State Opera, the Komische Oper Berlin, and the opera houses in Zurich, Basel, Bern, and Lucerne. He has also performed at numerous prestigious festivals and concert halls throughout Europe, Israel, and the USA. He has won prizes at competitions such as the "Toti dal Monte" International Singing Competition in Treviso, Italy, the Rheinsberg Palace Chamber Opera International Singing Competition, and the 13th International Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau. Hubert Wild is in known and successful as both a baritone and a countertenor, in classical and modern music theatre works as well as a soloist in oratorios and as a musical interpreter.

Since his first collaboration with director Herbert Fritsch at the Bremen Opera House as "Falsacappa" in Offenbach's "Die Banditen," he has also regularly appeared in theatrical productions, including Schauspielhaus Zürich, Burgtheater Wien, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Staatstheater Hannover, Schaubühne and Volksbühne Berlin, and Schauspiel Leipzig. There, he participated in various productions as an actor, singer, and musical director before making his directorial debut in 2019 with David Bowie and Enda Walsh's "Lazarus." This was followed in the 2022/23 season by his production of "Cabaret." Hubert Wild is a frequent guest at the Theater Basel, where he has sung in Strauss's "Intermezzo" and Shostakovich's "The Nose," among other works, and performed in the Dadaist children's opera "Trallalala, Trallala!" He developed it together with 27 children aged 6 to 13. In collaboration with violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaya and the SWR, he developed the staged concert "Im Namen des Friedens".
