Faustus is hungry. Hungry for more. More knowledge, more experience — and more power. Driven by ambition and the insatiable need to fulfil all of his (un-)attainable desires, Dr Faustus immerses himself in the world of dark magic. Mephistophilis appears and offers a deal: Dr Faustus must sell his soul to the Devil if he wishes to acquire such magic. Anyone expecting the goethian big test and an endeavour (and erring?) toward completeness will be disappointed. Marlowe's Doctor Faustus is both ironic and more human.
With Doctor Faustus, emmy-winning director and digital theatre expert David Gochfeld searches for the (dark) magic between the stage and the digital world, and uses Christopher Marlowe's work to create a performance about the allure of power and the greed for the unattainable.

„Nicht zuletzt überzeugt der VR-„Faustus“ durch den Beweis, dass virtuelle Bilder unter zügelnder Strenge packend funktionieren und erhöhte Nachdrücklichkeit gewinnen. Ein ganz starker Theaterabend.“
