We end the season with a celebration of theatre, of plays, of drama. We do so with one of the oldest works in theatre: The Oresteia.

Robert Icke, author of The Doctor, had his breakthrough with his interpretation of this work that was celebrated by critics and audiences alike. Indeed, his version packs a serious punch. It uses modern, accessible language to address the violent family drama, the incredibly personal tragedy and the destructive family dynamics that always and above all else mean sacrificing the most intimate of relationships—with children, with partners, with parents. Director Stephan Kimmig, who has won multiple awards for his interpretations of ancient works, selected this clever and touching version for his first work in Nuremberg.
