The string quartet is a supreme discipline of chamber music. Nearly all major composers have written string quartets, with few exceptions such as Gustav Mahler and Hector Berlioz. The ensemble under concert master Manuel Kastl has compiled a lovely programme from the very extensive repertoire at its disposal.
