Ecstatic, physical, intense: In "Anthemʺ, Goyo Montero depicts a society disintegrating into itself in abstract images. In the process, the multifaceted nature of the human voice formed the origin of the choreography and likewise determines the score. With the integration and alienation of the own voice, Owen Belton's perfectly fitting composition becomes the structural and sound-giving means of expression of this energetic ensemble piece. The Nuremberg ballet director and chief choreographer was recently named "Director of the year" by the international magazine "Dance Europe" and was especially praised in the dance journal "Tanz" for challenging his ensemble and allowing it to shine in the current double bill.
Hofesh Shechter is one of the most exciting and sought-after choreographer of the contemporary dance scene. He is known for his atmospheric musical compositions and epic soundtracks in combination with the unique physicality of his own movement language. In his iconic work "tHE bAD", specially reworked for the Nuremberg ensemble, Shechter allows strong contrasts to collide: Bursts of power and abrupt returns to sensitive moments alternate, ostinato-monotone passages intoxicate as much as piercing club sound. The result is a wild, stirring, absorbing and fascinating Shechter's "dance world" to the rhythmically pulsating sound mix of disco, rap, old music and Shechter's own compositions.
