Sabine Waibel wurde in Wien geboren. Sie war am Schauspiel Frankfurt und unter Armin Petras am Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin engagiert. Seit 2014 arbeitet sie freischaffend unter anderem am Deutschen Theater Berlin, an der Volksbühne Berlin, am Neumarkt Theater in Zürich, am Schauspiel Hannover, am Schauspiel Köln und am Staatstheater Nürnberg. 2021 erhielt sie in der Zeitschrift Theater heute für die Rolle der Christine in „Mourning Becomes Electra“ in der Regie von Pinar Karabulut an der Volksbühne Berlin eine Nominierung als Schauspielerin des Jahres.
