Lucas Axel, born in Valinhos, Brazil, received his professional dance education at the Bolshoi Theater Joinville in Brazil. He graduated in both classical and contemporary dance. Then he took over first repertoire-roles at CIA Jovem Bolshoi Brazil, among others in "Don Quixote" and "Raymonda", both by choreographer Vladimir Vassiliev. From 2013 to 2016, he danced at the São Paulo Companhia de Dança in choreographies by Jiří Kylián ("Petit Mort" and "Indigo Rose"), William Forsythe ("In the middle of the slightly elevated" and "Workwithwork"), Márcia Haydée ("The dream of Don Quixote“), Giovanni di Palma "Romeu et Julieta") and Marco Goecke ("Peekaboo"). In the season 2016/2017 he danced for the Balé da Cidade de São Paulo in choreographies by Alex Soares, Ismael Ivo, Cayetano Soto an many more before he moved to the ballet of the Staatstheater Augsburg in 2018. Here he performed among others in "The Swan Lake" by Ricardo Fernando, in "Heroes" by Marguerite Donlon and in "Cantata" by Mauro Bigonzetti. From the season 2019/2020 on he is a member of the Staatstheater Nürnberg Ballett.
