The Staatstheater Nürnberg would like to thank the circa 1,700 members of its six support organisations for their decades of support and solidarity.
The assistance provided, both material and non-material, helps the Staatstheater as it goes about mounting ambitious productions that would not be feasible if it were solely reliant on the basic budget. It also enables us to continue to grow artistically and to keep expanding our appeal beyond the Nuremberg metropolitan region and also internationally.
The work of our support associations is based largely on their altruistic approach to giving and an enduring enthusiasm for the arts.

What began as a ladies’ musical tea party in 1988, modelled on American charity events, has evolved into the Damenclub, a society dedicated to raising additional financial resources for the Nuremberg Opera. Members can actively participate in events such as the ladies’ tea party and the benefit gala. Members work in unpaid capacities and contribute philanthropically through the financial assistance they provide to the Staatstheater Nürnberg.
Become a member and/or support the Staatstheater with a “minute donation”. Based on calculated operating costs amounting to approx. €65 per minute, donors can pay the expenses of the Staatstheater on a minute-by-minute basis.

We are a group of over 800 lovers of opera and musical theatre who all cherish the ambience of the Opernhaus Nürnberg, its artistic excellence and the diversity of its programme.
PROMOTION OF ART
We award grants to young, up-and-coming artists and provide financial support for selected projects and productions.
BEHIND THE SCENES
We organise group visits to sit in on rehearsals and hold meetings with artists and senior figures in the Staatstheater management.
AMONG FRIENDS
We organise lively get-togethers with fellow music lovers and friends old and new, for example to accompany membership recruitment drives.

OPERA VIVA, a not-for-profit association founded in 2013, aims to foster international collaborations and co-productions involving the Staatstheater, not least as a way of nourishing the European dialogue on the subject of art, aesthetics and also values. OPERA VIVA supports special opera projects that are not covered by the budget, thereby enabling the Staatstheater to build on its artistic excellence and expand its international reputation.
In the 2024/25 season, the association OPERA VIVA will support the productions „Eugen Onegin“ and „Macbeth“.

Seit über dreißig Jahren unterstützen die FREUNDE DER STAATSPHILHARMONIE e.V. Nürnberg das Konzertleben des Orchesters!
Kammerkonzerte
In inzwischen neun Kammerkonzerten präsentieren sich Musiker*innen der Staatsphilharmonie in eigener künstlerischer Verantwortung abseits des großen Orchesterverbundes. Durch die unabhängige Struktur können wir auch seltene Besetzungen und Programme zur Aufführung bringen: Ausgesuchte Kammermusik auf hohem Niveau! Ein vom Orchester gewählter Beirat entscheidet über Programmvorschläge, ebenso ehrenamtlich wird die Durchführung der Konzerte organisiert. Längst haben sich so die Kammerkonzerte zu einer festen Größe im Konzertleben der Stadt entwickelt.
Unterstützung und Förderung der Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg
Doch der Verein hat noch weitere Zuständigkeiten. In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Generalmusikdirektor Roland Böer unterstützt er das Konzertprogramm der Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg. Er hilft, international gefeierte Solistinnen und Dirigentinnen nach Nürnberg zu holen und ermöglicht außergewöhnliche Konzertprojekte des Orchesters. In der Spielzeit 2024/2025 finanzieren die Mitglieder beispielsweise wesentlich die Auftragskomposition „Sleep no more“ für Orgel und Orchester von Stefan Johannes Hanke, zu hören im 5. Philharmonischen Konzert im Februar 2025. Wir freuen uns sehr über den engen, vertraulichen und produktiven Kontakt zu Generalmusikdirektor Roland Böer und zum Staatstheater Nürnberg!
Des Weiteren finanzieren wir den Ankauf von Instrumenten, die den besonderen Klang des Orchesters noch mehr zum Leuchten bringen, und unterstützen die jungen Nachwuchstalente unserer Orchesterakademie durch Auftrittsmöglichkeiten bei Sonderkonzerten.
Begegnung
Es ist uns ein großes Vergnügen, die Musikerinnen der Staatsphilharmonie mit ihrem Publikum in Verbindung zu bringen. Auf unseren Internetkanälen berichten wir über personelle Veränderungen im Orchester und stellen die Akademistinnen der Staatsphilharmonie vor. Noch näher können Sie ihnen in unseren Sit-In Proben kommen – ein exklusives Angebot für unsere Vereinsmitglieder, bei dem Sie live im Probengeschehen anwesend sind und miterleben, wie die Arbeit für ein Philharmonisches Konzert aussieht. Außerdem laden wir unsere Mitglieder einmal jährlich zum Empfang ins Staatstheater. Dort können Sie in feierlicher Atmosphäre die Orchestermitglieder und Ihren Generalmusikdirektor Roland Böer erleben und persönlich mit ihnen ins Gespräch kommen.
Auch über das Sonderengagement der Orchestermitglieder wollen wir Sie informieren und Ihnen somit interessante Einblicke hinter die Kulissen ermöglichen.

A common love of dance is what motivates us to support, in material and non-material ways, the success story that is the ballet of the Staatstheater Nürnberg, led by Goyo Montero.
As lovers of ballet, we have been observing with admiration and pride how the Ballet has evolved over time. The Ballet has developed from a locally feted troupe to the internationally renowned company that it is today. Our chief objective is to help sustain this momentum.
Our membership fees, voluntary donations and the proceeds from our international biennial ballet gala all go towards supporting ballet productions, for which funding is sorely needed due to budget shortfalls.

Acting needs audiences. And actors need committed friends and supporters from the audience, who are prepared to contribute financially and non-materially to their theatre work.
The Förderverein Schauspiel Nürnberg e. V. is very close to the seat of Nuremberg drama and the makers of theatre themselves. The association steps up with funding, for instance, to cover investments and additional production costs that were not factored into the budget.
Every two years the association presents the Nuremberg Prize for Theatre in recognition of outstanding achievement at Nuremberg’s Schauspielhaus.
